About this game

Spinning Darts is the game where a player's own hand makes the result. The name board spins at about two turns per second and keeps going until you press Throw. The dart flies in, sticks, and the owner of that slice is it.

How to play

  1. Enter 2 to 16 players.
  2. Watch the board and press Throw whenever you like.
  3. The board slows to a stop with the dart still in it, and the hit slice lights up.

When it works best

  • When you want a designated thrower to blame ("you threw it!")
  • When pressing the button should feel like a moment of its own

Can you aim for a slice?

Not realistically. The speed drifts all the time, a small random offset is added to the landing point, and the board travels more than half a turn during the roughly 0.3 seconds the dart is in the air. Counting beats to hit a particular name simply doesn't work.

Most games here decide the result first and then animate it. This one reads the result directly from where the dart lands.

Frequently asked questions

Who should throw?

There's no fixed rule. Let someone who isn't playing throw, or agree on anything you like, such as the youngest player.

The board spins too fast to read names.

It spins fast until the throw. Once it stops, only the hit slice stays bright, so the result is easy to see.

Are all slices the same size?

Yes. Every player gets an equal slice.
