About this game
In Spinning Top, a top wanders across a disc divided into name slices and picks whoever owns the slice where it finally falls. It looks a little like a wheel, but the disc stays still and the top does the moving, which makes it a different thing to watch.
How to play
- Enter 2 to 16 players.
- Press Spin. The top roams around the disc for about six seconds.
- As it slows, it wobbles and topples. Whoever owns that slice is it.
Why it's fun to watch
The wobble grows toward the end. The moment when it looks ready to cross into the next slice is the tensest part, so it's a great one to cheer at together.
Is it fair?
The final slice is chosen at random at the start, and the top's path is built to end there. It falls toward the middle of a slice so the result never lands ambiguously on a line. Unlike a real top, the tilt of a table or the strength of a spin can't affect anything.
