About this game
Spin the Wheel is the fastest and simplest of the 13 games. Names sit on equal slices, and whoever the pin points to when the wheel stops is it. There is nothing to explain, which makes it a good choice for a group that has only just met.
How to play
- Enter the players' names. Blank fields show up as "Player 1" and so on.
- Press Start game, then Spin.
- The wheel turns for about five seconds and slows down. The name under the pin appears in the result window.
When it works best
- Picking one presenter in a class or a meeting
- Showing the draw on a shared screen so everyone can watch
- Large groups where taking turns would take too long
Is it fair?
Every slice is the same size, and the browser's cryptographic random generator decides the result when you press Spin. A near miss on a slice boundary may look dramatic, but the slice is already chosen and only the exact stopping point within it varies. Frequently asked questions
How many names can I add?
Between 2 and 20. Slices get narrower as the group grows, so shorter names read better.
Are the names sent to a server?
No. Names are saved only in the browser you are using and are never uploaded.
Does entering a name twice raise its chances?
Yes. Two entries mean two slices and twice the chance, which is handy if you want to weight the draw on purpose.
