About this game
Ghost Leg, also called a ladder lottery, is a classic pen-and-paper draw. You follow a vertical line down and move sideways whenever you meet a rung. That simple rule pairs each name at the top with exactly one result at the bottom.
How to play
- Enter 2 to 10 players and choose how many get caught.
- Tap names one by one to draw each path in color.
- The question mark at the bottom turns into X or Safe.
- If you can't wait, press Reveal all to run through them in order.
The result appears as soon as everyone who is caught has been found, without tracing the remaining paths.
When it works best
- Choosing several people at once, such as two helpers
- Enjoying the attempt to trace the rungs by eye
Is it fair?
Going by the ladder's shape alone, a path is somewhat more likely to finish near where it started. That is why the X slots are placed at random, independently of the ladder, so every name has the same chance. Why ghost leg is fair walks through the reason.
Frequently asked questions
Can two people end up in the same slot?
No. The structure of the ladder sends every starting point to a different slot.
Can more than one person get caught?
Yes. On the setup screen you can choose up to one fewer than the number of players.
Can I work out the result early?
X slots stay hidden behind question marks until a path arrives, so tracing the rungs tells you nothing.
